In the winter of 2021, I created a movement and immersive experience that re-created the ancient Greek Eleusinian death mysteries. These were large group, multi-day ceremonies that helped people confront and reconcile with death – with the aim of walking with death in order to live well in the present.

Using movement, ritual, sacred items, metaphoric meals, sharing, and community, we re-created both the Greater and the Lesser Eleusinian mysteries for the modern person. 

Like the ancient Greeks, we were able to walk alongside death and clarify how we want to live well in our present lives.

This is a work I am happy to recreate for a small group in the future.
